Dell girl
From The Everywhere Girl Diaries – a work of fiction
Last week of May, year one
Dear Diary,
I can’t believe it! I am so excited! Mom and Dad gave me my graduation present early, and it’s my very own computer! They had told me that we couldn’t afford to buy another one, and I didn’t know what I was going to do for school. Dad had said that I could take the one that is sitting in the garage, but it has NO memory and the monitor is the size of a VW. I was really stressing.
But now I have my very own Dell computer. It arrived in a big box, and they left it by the door to my room with a BIG red bow on it. It was there when I got home from school.
It will be so nice not to have to share a computer with little brothers and sisters. I was very tired of typing term papers on PB & J covered keys and in the middle of soda pop spills and a cloud of cheese cracker dust. I will say, however, that is has been a little better since I found out that you can use sticky notes to clean your keyboard.
