From The Everywhere Girl Diaries – a work of fiction
Second week of June, year one
Dear Diary,
The craziest thing happened at graduation. We were supposed to write down our plans for next year. When they announced our name and we walked across the stage to get our diploma, they would read what we had written.
I put more than a little thought into wording my sentence just right. I mean this was important. This would be how people would remember me. Years later, when I had actually done what I said I would do, people would say, “You know, that’s what she said she was going to do, and that’s what she did.”
So what happens? Somehow the information got mixed up. I knew that we were in trouble when they said that Tony Baxter was going to floral design school. Our principal looked unsure, but stuck with the plan and went on to say that Gennie Bethany had a football scholarship. It only got worse after that, but he just kept reading, accompanied by gasps from parents and giggles from the rest of the audience as one by one our future plans became someone else’s and someone else’s became ours. As we learned that our valedictorian “hoped” to go to community college, I tried to imagine what path was in store for me. Nothing, however, could have prepared me to find out that I had decided to become a nurse!
Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for nurses. It’s just that I could never be one. This profession should be reserved for people who can keep cool under pressure and remove a Band-Aid without then having to leave the room for several minutes to regroup.
But the worst part? The worst part is that the annoying, immature, self-centered boy who has followed me in every alphabetical seating arrangement since third grade is now the owner of my carefully chosen, handcrafted, and unique plan. He stole my dream and it’s not fair.

Dear Madamne: Have You ever asked for service, then tech states, Thats what was just done!
Sometimes people have expectations of meaning of words & try to force that meaning out. when actual words meant something way differnt. Ethier words must be modified to explain event correctly or action expected must be rethought to conform to new words or modified thought about true meaning of those expectations & words.
Most people only associate with those in group at present & take dim view of previous groups(Losers), once highly prized. Once person has lifetime group member corraled, then its out of groups altogether. chipping for new life dosn’t seem to extend far enough to include carrer outside home, so its low grade long term dream that never can be realized, as only goal was capture, thru FUN Happening & events, then NOTHING once capture is legal.
Still Awaitng My Chocalate Covered Cheeries You Brought Home, Please Insert Candies Into My Mouth.
Just what was your carefully worded sentence?
